here at
sticviews, we get a lot of questions about what kind of material they should print their custom sticview on, so here’s some info on each type of material we have. we currently offer 3 different kinds of special materials that stic on almost anything but don’t leave any gummy, nasty residue. that’s what makes
sticviews different from your average sticker. they won’t harm your walls, furniture, appliances, windows, or electronics. we also print custom posters and art reproductions on a non-sticky material we call art paper.
some materials are better for some surfaces than others.
below is a description of each material and what surfaces they stic best to:
sticviews on a dark surface:
white stic: a solid white vinyl material that is best for flat, smooth surfaces. perfect for stickers of all shapes and sizes, window coverings, laptop skins, and car graphics.
this is currently our most popular material because it’s the catch-all material for sticview stickers. when designing your sticview on white stic, white areas of your design will come out white. if you're stic'in your sticview on a dark surface, white stic is your best option because the graphics will shows up best. white stic appears back-lit when you put them on windows, store fronts, or light boxes. prints come out photo quality, and they last indoors and outside in the sun. they don’t fade even after being on the hood of a car in Texas.
clear stic: a see-through material for glass, and lightly colored surfaces that are flat and smooth. perfect for stained glass simulations and windows because you can see through them. not ideal for dark surfaces.
great for stickers where you want the light to shine through, like on windows. when designing your sticview on clear stic, white areas of the image will be crystal clear (we don’t print white ink). always make sure that the graphics you use are darker colors than the surface you're sticking it to. light colors on clear stic do not show up well on dark surfaces, but all colors on clear stic will show up well on light surfaces like white, gold, and silver.

cloth stic: a fabric-like material that is best for any surface
that’s textured i.e. rough walls, clothes, and furniture. also stics well on
smooth surfaces.
this stuff is magic! it’s our most durable material, and it stics to
most anything. it can be reapplied over and over again, and even get
washed off! for example, if you’ve stuck it and re-stuck it on your
clothes and it starts picking up of lint, simply wash off the lint and
it becomes sticky again. the surface texture of cloth stic is like canvas and is great for printing photos, art, and reusable
graphics. cloth stic is purposed for
indoor use only. white areas of the image will come out
white on your prints.
keep in mind
material shrinkage when placing your order
:
white stic and clear stic materials will shrink
slightly. for height and width measurements, allow for 1/8 inch
shrinkage for every 12 inches.
12 inches = add .125 to your
measurement
25 inches = add .25 to your measurement
50
inches = add .50 to your measurement
